Welcome to My Blog
Teaching one's self how to fly fish later in life, (late 30's) is not easy, but can be done. In this blog I will share everything I know (which isn't much) from a newbie's perspective, as I teach myself how to fly-fish.
While the blog will mostly focus on fly-fishing, I will from time to time talk about my non fly-fishing jaunts as well. And, if I'm lucky, share my experiences of teaching my son how to fly fish too. To my son J-Bone (not his real name, but his sports nickname), I apologize in advance for any mental, emotional, or physical scarring (hey, there are sharp hooks involved) I cause during the learning process.
Finally, one thing to note - I am just beginning my second season of fly-fishing and my fourth season of fishing. So in order to accurately portray my "trial by fire" into fly-fishing, I will be interspersing up to date posts with flash back posts from season one.
I hope you enjoy and get something out of it - a laugh, a new found trick, or an answer to a question. But if not then you are free to, as my father use to say, "change the channel".
